SBI Funds Management Makes Robust Stock Market Debut with 7% Premium
On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, SBI Funds Management made its stock market debut on the NSE and BSE, listing at a nearly 7 per cent premium over the issue price of Rs 574 per share.
SBI Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty noted the company raised Rs 11,692 crore through the offering, making it the largest initial public issue of 2026 so far in India's financial sector.
Investors demonstrated robust interest, with the IPO subscribed 42 times overall and the Qualified Institutional Buyers portion subscribed approximately 140 times, reflecting strong market confidence.
Commenting on the successful debut, Setty said the offering "sends a powerful message about the resilience of India's national markets, the credibility of our institutions, and the confidence that investors across the world continue to place on India."
Highlighting the company's position as the nation's largest asset manager, Setty noted that the Indian mutual fund industry has grown significantly, with "SBI Funds Management manages nearly 15 per cent of them.
