- Facing cold winds in the final 2 kilometres, Barwal maintained a pace of 2:09:14 until 40km before experiencing two mini-blackouts with 20 metres left, falling twice yet recovering to finish.
- Qualifying for this year's Asian Games, Barwal expressed gratitude to the AFI, ASI, and Reliance Foundation, stating, "I am thankful to AFI, ASI and Reliance for supporting me."
- Now confident after breaking the mental block, Barwal has set his sights on a sub-2:09 marathon, believing his achievement will inspire other Indian runners to shatter the 48-year record barrier.
