Dustin Diamond's Dad Responds to Allegations He Stole Late Child Star's Earnings
Mark says agents took 10% of Dustin Diamond’s earnings and that remaining money went to expenses, according to the docuseries.
The new docuseries After the Bell, part of Hollywood Demons, features interviews exploring the relationship between late Saved by the Bell star Dustin Diamond and his father, Mark, addressing Dustin's allegations regarding his childhood earnings.
Denying the claims that he mishandled his son's finances, Mark stated the accusation 'really made me upset.' He noted cast members were not making 'amazing money' compared to Friends and had to cover expenses like gas and taxes.
Actor Ed Alonzo, who appeared on the series, told Page Six that he observed the father and son 'get along very well' and seemed like 'the best of friends' while working on the set.
After the Bell also examines cast member Lark Voorhies, who has faced mental health struggles. Alonzo noted that when he last saw her in 2025, she 'seemed like the normal shy Lark.'
Dustin, who died of cancer in 2021 at 44, struggled to escape his child star persona after Saved by the Bell ended. Alonzo remembered him as 'always so funny, even off camera,' despite his rocky path.
