The Saskum Lake wildfire in the North Thompson is now estimated to be 841.2 hectares. The BC Wildfire Service’s (BCWS) most recent update on Aug. 24 at 3:27 p.m. marked the growth. The fire, located roughly 35 km east of Little Fort and Chu Chua, was discovered on July 28 and has seen some significant jumps in its estimated size since then.
