The construction of a production hall for Vetter Pharma has begun on the site of Ford's decommissioned car plant in the north of Saarlouis. Almost half of the area is now being used for this purpose.
The German industry group Vetter, specializing in the packaging of injectable medicines, plans to install its new plant in Sarrelouis instead of the former Ford plant. Nearly 500 million euros will be invested. The start of production is planned in 2031 with the prospect of creating 2,000 jobs.
