The National Assemblyman, Santiago Díaz Asque, and the former Assemblyman of the Christian Social Party (PSC), Pablo Muentes, were transferred to the La Roca prison in Guayaquil. Their transfer from prison 4 of Quito to the maximum security center took place on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, following an order from the National Service for the Comprehensive Care of Adult Persons Deprived of Liberty (SNAI).
Libertad (SNAI) transferred Assemblyman Santiago D., investigated for "presumed rape of a minor", and former legislator Pablo M., convicted of "organized crime", from Quito Prison 4 to La Roca prison in Guayaquil, with the aim of protecting his safety. The request for transfer was made by the SNAI
A report by the National Alert Intelligence Center on risks to the lives of ex-legislators, so they were relocated to Guayaquil's top security cell.
