Sanibel’s 2026 budget grows with property value surge

Sanibel City Council reviewed its proposed $216 million fiscal 2026 budget during a July 15 meeting.  The budget is bolstered by ongoing hurricane recovery funds and an estimated more than 20% increase in property tax values, the highest year-over-year increase in Lee County.
