Salem, NH police issue shelter-in-place warning, searching for dangerous fugitive
Police said the search ended without finding Daquhan Cromer, who remains wanted on an escape warrant and multiple felony charges.
Early Wednesday, the Salem Police Department lifted a shelter-in-place order following an hours-long search for fugitive Daquhan Cromer, which had been issued Tuesday for residents near Church Avenue, Route 28, and Granite Avenue.
Authorities are searching for Cromer, who is wanted as a fugitive from justice, holds an escape warrant from New Hampshire State Prison, and faces multiple felonies in Salem.
Described as 6-foot-2 and about 215 lbs with short dreadlocks and a dark beard, Cromer was last seen wearing a white tank top and dark pants near Millville Street and Taylor Street.
Police stated they did not find the suspect and do not believe he remains in the area, though authorities still consider Cromer armed and dangerous.
Cromer also faces an active Massachusetts warrant for aggravated assault on a child and allegedly struck multiple police cruisers during a 2019 chase in Salem.
