In a deal that will take the company private and deepen its focus on faith-based broadcasting and digital media, Salem Media, one of the nation's largest Christian and conservative media companies, announced Tuesday that it has agreed to be acquired by The Christian Community Foundation Inc., which operates as WaterStone.
Salem Media to be acquired and taken off stock market
According to Radio Ink and others, the Christian Community Foundation (d/b/a WaterStone) plans acquire the outstanding shares of Salem Media Group which locally owns WORD-FM (101.5); WPIT (730), and WPGP (1250). Shares will be purchased for $1.00 each which is about a 250% valuation over a recent trading price.
