Saint Philip, France Chiquita - Kiosk of History

In January 1793, Brother Antonio de San Miguel appointed Miguel Hidalgo parish priest of San Felipe, Guanajuato. The viceroy and Count of Revillagigedo appointed him his own priest, vicar and ecclesiastical judge of this town. In that village he bought a house on the main street: the Sewer (today Hidalgo), a short distance from the temple, which was inhabited by the priest and his family between 1793 and 1803.
