Mac Allister 'Very Sad' Not to Be Offered New Reds Deal
The Argentina midfielder said he remains committed to Liverpool after contract talks stalled, with his agent’s renewal bid rebuffed and offers from elsewhere on the table.
On Tuesday, Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister revealed he had options to leave the club this summer, stating he is "very, very sad" the club has not offered him a contract extension.
Unlike teammates Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch, who received improved deals earlier this year, Mac Allister was informed the club was not in a position to open negotiations.
The Argentina international, who joined Liverpool for £35 million in 2023, remains committed despite the setback, saying, "Everybody can see I give my 100% for this football club every single day."
Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola responded by stating, "We all have responsibilities, contracts with a club," while confirming the midfielder remains vital to the squad's plans.
Ahead of Wednesday's Champions League opener against Atletico Madrid, Mac Allister emphasized his focus on performance, noting, "It is going to depend on how I perform during these years.
