Mulilo Energy, a white-owned company chaired by former Eskom COO Jan Oberholzer, has been named as one of the successful independent power producers (IPPs) in South Africa’s R9.5 billion battery storage initiative. The project aims to enhance the country’s energy storage capacity. Oberholzer previously held a leadership role at Eskom during a period of significant operational challenges at the utility.
