Rutgers University Dean Allegedly Recorded "Upskirt" Videos, Prosecutors Say
Joshua Kohut, 51, is accused of recording hidden videos on a cellphone, and Rutgers University placed him on administrative leave pending an investigation.
On Tuesday, New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport announced that Joshua Kohut, dean of research at Rutgers University's School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, was charged with fourth-degree invasion of privacy.
Investigators executed a search warrant on Monday, seizing devices belonging to Kohut; a forensic review allegedly discovered "upskirt" videos depicting "undergarment-clad intimate parts" recorded without the victim's knowledge.
Rutgers University officials placed Kohut on administrative leave and banned him from campus pending an investigation, calling the charges "extremely disturbing."
If convicted, the fourth-degree invasion of privacy charge carries up to 18 months in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
