Russian, Belarusian gymnasts allowed to compete as neutrals from January, says FIG
- The International Gymnastics Federation has lifted its ban on Russian and Belarusian gymnasts, allowing them to compete as neutral athletes in international competitions from January 1.
- Gymnasts from Russia and Belarus must adhere to the FIG's unpublished "Ad-hoc Rules" and compete without any involvement or association with their respective countries or national federations.
- The FIG's decision follows recommendations from the International Olympic Committee , making gymnastics the biggest Olympic sport to create a path for Russians and Belarusians to compete at the Paris Olympics, but final eligibility will be determined by the IOC.
