Responding to British Defence Minister John Healey's statement that he "would prefer to kidnap Russian President Vladimir Putin to hold him accountable for war crimes," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, "Attempts to take such actions against the leader of a nuclear power will have disastrous consequences."
The Kremlin is positioning itself for an open dispute with the United Kingdom.
