Russian drone attack in Odesa region hits Danube port infrastructure
- Two people were hospitalized after a 3.5-hour Russian drone attack on a port in Ukraine's Odessa region. The Ukrainian air force shot down 22 of the 25 drones. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy's chief of staff described the assault as part of a Russian drive to provoke a food crisis.
- The attack comes ahead of Russian President Putin's meeting with Turkish President Erdogan, where they will discuss the resumption of food shipments from Ukraine under a Black Sea grain agreement. Russia previously broke off from the agreement over claims of unfulfilled promises.
- In addition to the drone attack, there were shelling incidents in Ukraine, resulting in casualties. Ukrainian prosecutors have opened a war crimes investigation into the death of a police officer.
