The board of Radiotelevision Slovenia will hold an extraordinary session on Thursday to discuss the poor financial situation at the public broadcaster. The president of the board, Natalija Gorščak, claims that the situation is better than last year, and still believes that the government will provide money for RTV, as promised.

At a session of the board of Radiotelevision Slovenia (RTVS), members discussed the institution's business situation. Both the board and the RTVS management called for the regulation of RTVS's systemic financing and for the amendment of the RTVS Act. The board members will draft resolutions urging the government to do so and vote on them by correspondence by the end of the week.

The Council of Radio and Television Slovenia (RTVS) will discuss the institution's business situation today. The General Secretariat of the Government has informed the institution that the government is unlikely to be able to provide funds for additional financing of programs for the indigenous Italian and Hungarian national communities until the fall.
