Cambridge win men's Boat Race again as Oxford women end losing run
Cambridge’s men stayed unbeaten this season as Oxford’s women ended an eight-race losing streak with a fast start in rough conditions.
Cambridge won the men's Boat Race for the seventh time in eight years, while Oxford ended a losing streak in the women's race by winning for the first time since 2016.
In the 171st edition of the men's race, Cambridge won by 3.5 lengths and 11.02 seconds- their 89th win to Oxford's 81.
Oxford's women denied Cambridge a ninth straight victory after powering to a strong start and never relinquishing the lead to beat their rivals by three lengths.
In the traditional Cambridge and Oxford universities rowing eight-boat competition on Saturday, both sides had reason to celebrate: Oxford won the women's race and Cambridge justified its favorite status among the men.
