Bunch of Gas-Filled Party Balloons Explode Inside Mumbai Elevator
Two people sustained burn injuries after a flash explosion caused by gas-filled balloons inside a Goregaon residential elevator, with negligence charges filed against the balloon shop owner.

- The injured included 21-year-old student Himani Tapriya, who sustained burns and received medical assistance, and 32-year-old delivery worker Raju Kumar Mahato, both rushed to hospital and stable.
- Goregaon police registered a negligence case and served a notice to T K Jaiswal, owner of the balloon shop, booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 125 and 125B.
- Investigators noted hydrogen-filled balloons are far more flammable, and Goregaon police said lack of safety instructions and protective equipment contributed to the blast.
