Rosé Is LACMA’s ‘Number One Girl’: She’ll Perform at Its Upcoming Art + Film Gala
The gala will honor Denis Villeneuve and Vija Celmins and raised a record $6.5 million last year for LACMA’s film programming and mission.
On Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art announced that K-pop star Rosé will perform at its 15th annual Art+Film Gala on November 7. She will serve as the evening's musical guest.
Latvian American visual artist Vija Celmins and filmmaker Denis Villeneuve will be honored at the 15th annual event. Villeneuve is best known for the film "Dune," representing the gala's focus on connecting art and cinema.
With 10 billion solo streams, Rosé has established herself as a significant force in music and fashion. Her single "APT." featuring Bruno Mars earned three Grammy nominations following her 2016 debut with Blackpink.
Proceeds from the fundraiser support LACMA's initiative to make film more central to the museum's curatorial programming and exhibitions. Last year's gala raised a record $6.5 million for the institution.
Museum trustee Eva Chow and actor Leonardo DiCaprio will co-chair the gala, with Gucci returning as presenting sponsor. Audi will provide transportation and additional support for the event.
