Rose Salutes Bournemouth's Past Heroes Ahead of AC Milan Clash
Roberto Rocca says he will cheer for Bournemouth despite family ties to AC Milan, as the Cherries seek to keep a perfect European start.
- On Thursday, October 22, 2026, Premier League side Bournemouth hosts AC Milan at Vitality Stadium for a Europa League match, aiming to extend their perfect two-win start in the competition.
- The club adopted red and black striped kit in 1971 to mirror AC Milan, symbolizing a 15-year transformation from near-liquidation in 2008 to hosting seven-time European champions on the continental stage.
- Manager Marco Rose enters following a recent Premier League win over Sunderland, while AC Milan manager Ruben Amorim employs a high-intensity 3-4-2-1 system built on possession and pressing.
- Rocca, a Milan-born resident serving as Bournemouth Mayor, confirmed he will support his adopted home side, describing the fixture as a 'fantastic opportunity' for the community.
- Victory would allow the Cherries to confirm their place in the round of 16, easing pressure on a congested fixture list and cementing a historic milestone in the club's 127-year history.
