JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — On Wednesday, Feb. 5 a Harvey man was found guilty of attempted murder using a "machete-type" knife back in May of 2023. Rome Man Found with Machete at Pepperell High School
Robert Avery Garrett, 37 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found with a machete while loitering around Pepperell High School. Reports added that Garrett was also previously observed using the machete to cut down multiple trees at the Gilbreath Center. Garrett is charged with criminal trespass, carrying a weapon in a school zone and loitering in a school zone. Source
