Robert Owen inspired socialism. He meant well, it turned out as always

Summary by Deník.cz
Exactly 200 years ago, on January 3, 1825, the industrialist Robert Owen bought 30,000 acres in southwestern Indiana to try to build a new, in his eyes ideal, experimental colony. He named it New Harmony. He founded it on the idea of mutual cooperation, based, as he believed, on human empathy and the ability to care for each other. But he did not introduce any clear rules regarding the management of the property. And then came the crash.
