Robert Downey Jr. Returns As Iron Man And Thor Dons A Helmet In New Look At Avengers Infinity Defence
The attraction will reunite several Marvel stars and send guests into a battle with King Thanos, Disney said.
- On Saturday at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced Robert will reprise his role as Tony Starks in the new Disney California Adventure attraction Avengers Infinity Defense, seven years after the character's death.
- Scheduled to open in 2028 at Avengers Campus, the ride tasks guests with helping the Avengers fight King Thanos, with Robert noting, "Welcome to Avengers Campus," while hinting at the plot involving Marvel villain Thanos.
- Joining the attraction, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye will appear, with Iman Vellani providing the pre-show mission briefing for new recruits.
- Disney Experiences released behind-the-scenes clips of the cast, showcasing footage of actors receiving materials for their returns during the filming of the separate film Avengers: Doomsday.
- Beyond the attraction, Robert is also returning to the Marvel universe as Victor Von Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, positioning him with dual roles in the franchise by 2028.
