Road rage suspect arrested after high-speed chase across LA County
Police said the driver reached speeds above 100 mph before officers used a PIT maneuver and took him into custody.
On Tuesday, California Highway Patrol officers arrested a road rage suspect after a high-speed pursuit ended with a PIT maneuver on a residential street in Montebello.
Santa Monica Police Department investigators initiated the pursuit after attempting to contact a driver allegedly involved in a road rage incident involving a firearm weeks ago.
The suspect led officers on a 45-minute chase, weaving through traffic on the 405, 101, and 10 freeways into the San Gabriel Valley before the pursuit terminated.
Three officers forcibly removed the driver from the Range Rover after the crash; authorities later confirmed the suspect is unrelated to an overnight homicide investigation at the Santa Monica Pier.
Authorities have not released the suspect's identity, and specific details regarding the initial road rage case remain under investigation following the surrender near San Gabriel Boulevard.
