Rivian Deliveries Hit Record High as R2 Rollout Gains Momentum
The EV maker delivered 19,248 vehicles, topping Wall Street estimates as R2 production ramped and full-year guidance stayed at 65,000 to 70,000 units.
On Friday, Rivian Automotive reported record third-quarter deliveries of 19,248 vehicles, beating the average analyst estimate of 18,001 and reaffirming full-year guidance of 65,000 to 70,000 vehicles.
The delivery surge reflects Rivian's ongoing efforts to scale production of the R2 SUV at its manufacturing facility in Normal, Illinois, which debuted earlier this year as a budget-friendlier alternative to the flagship R1.
Production reached 19,751 vehicles during the quarter, representing a 46% increase from the same period last year, while deliveries surged 58% quarter-over-quarter.
Shares of the Irvine, California-based EV maker rose 4% to $15.31 following the announcement, with full financial results scheduled for release on October 29, 2026.
To meet annual guidance, Rivian must deliver at least 23,193 vehicles in the fourth quarter, requiring a sequential jump of at least 20.5% amid a challenging U.S. electric vehicle sector.
