Recent rains in Adana and Aydın have caused rivers to overflow. In Söke, 200,000 decares of cultivated land were flooded, as were wheat fields and orange groves in the Adana plain. Mehmet Akın Doğan, the head of the Yüreğir Chamber of Agriculture, suggested that the Çatalan Dam should be urgently raised to mitigate flood risks.
