How to Use Ring’s ‘Search Party’ to Find a Lost Pet (as Seen in the Super Bowl Ad)
Ring's new feature helps neighbors use doorbell cameras to locate missing pets, addressing 10 million lost dogs annually, according to Ring founder Jamie Siminoff.
During Super Bowl 60, Ring aired an ad promoting Search Party, dramatizing a family reuniting with a lost dog using neighborhood cameras, with Ring founder Jamie Siminoff describing it as 'a way to locate lost pets'.
Jamie Siminoff, Ring founder, framed Search Party as part of Ring's safety-focused mission addressing 10 million dogs that go missing annually.
Since its launch, pet owners post lost-dog alerts in the Ring app, local cameras scan, and Ring's AI—trained on tens of thousands of dog videos—has found 99 dogs in 90 days including Nyx, Truffle, and Lainey with a 15-minute recovery.
Critics flagged Ring's partnership with Flock Safety amid 404 Media's ice-related reporting, while Ring said it has no ICE partnership and law enforcement may access videos with a warrant.
Observing that partnering with firms that work closely with law enforcement marks a reversal from Ring's recent-years policy, Ring users can also opt out of Flock functionality.
