Richmond City Council endorses community plan for United Heckathorn site cleanup

The Richmond City Council unanimously adopted a resolution Tuesday backing a community-led plan for a complete cleanup of a contaminated site in the Port of Richmond. The United Heckathorn Superfund site is in Richmond’s Inner Harbor, comprising 5 acres of land and 15 acres of marine sediments in the Lauritzen and Parr canals.
