Richard Madeley admits 'uncertain' GMB future and may not be there 'in a year or two'
Madeley said he may not be in the role in a year or two as ITV cuts budgets and audiences shrink.
Good Morning Britain host Richard Madeley recently admitted uncertainty regarding his future at ITV despite being named a lead presenter earlier this year, citing shrinking audience numbers and budget cuts.
ITV previously announced redundancies and budget cuts across daytime programmes including Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, Loose Women, and This Morning to address declining viewership.
During an appearance on BBC Radio's The Media Show, Madeley compared television to the "last days of the Roman Empire," stating, "Our budgets have been slashed because the audiences have shrunk."
Madeley remains unsure of his long-term position, sharing, "I don't know, I may not be in this position in a year or two from now, but I hope I am."
Away from the GMB studio, Madeley recently discussed his new documentary, Inside The World, which focuses on a Mega Prison; he dismissed starting a YouTube channel, saying, "I'm not really interested in buying a business.
