Celebrity Traitors' Richard E Grant Shuts Down "Categorically False" Rumour About His Time on Show
Grant called the allegation “categorically false” after reports said crew thought he revealed his role to avoid weeks of filming.
On Tuesday, actor Richard E. Grant denied claims he intentionally revealed his Traitor identity to secure an early exit from The Celebrity Traitors, calling the allegations 'categorically false.'
Reports in The Sun alleged crew members suspected the 69-year-old actor engineered his banishment to avoid filming, following his immediate confession to comedian Joe Lycett, 38.
BBC Radio presenters Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie revealed Grant accidentally disclosed his role four months ago, forcing producers to remove the segment from an earlier interview.
Writing on Instagram Stories, Grant insisted his reveal was a 'sheer shock to the system' rather than a calculated strategy, stating 'Being picked as a Traitor was an absolute dream.'
The series maintains strict non-disclosure agreements for contestants, with potential fines of £100,000 for breaches as show bosses work to prevent leaks despite mounting incidents.
