Even after almost three years of civil war, the civilian population in Sudan, marked by violence, hunger and displacement, has not taken a breather. In recent weeks, the epicenter of the fighting has shifted increasingly to the Central Sudanese region of Kordofan, where dozens of deaths were reported during drone attacks only on weekends. The area is rich in oil and gold and of great strategic importance.
