Rheinmetall and the German subsidiary of the European missile manufacturer MBDA announced on Monday 5 January their willingness to set up a joint company bringing together their activities in the field of laser weapons for naval forces. "The new company will develop and supply weapons systems for ships at first," says the joint press release, distributed on this occasion.
