Rheine: Truck driver dies after chase with police

A 32-year-old flees through Rheine with a tractor train, ignoring red traffic lights and speed limits. The police stop him with taser and baton – shortly afterwards the man is dead.

In NRW, police officers want to check a truck driver. But instead of following the instructions of the officers, the man rushes away. Only after a wild chase through Rheine, the police can face the 32-year-old - with baton and taser. A little later his health deteriorates.

He raced 100 kilometers per hour through a zone 50, drove several times over red and finally tried to escape the police on foot: A 32-year-old truck driver died after the Taser operation of police officers.

He ran away from the police at over 100 km/h, ignoring red traffic lights. When the officers stopped the truck, the driver escaped on foot. Then electric taser and baton were used.
