Rescuers in Nepal pull a Chinese national and a woman alive 10 days after devastating floods
Rescuers said the two survivors were among about 900 workers missing from hydropower projects after floods and mudslides buried tunnels and homes.

- The August 26 floods, likely caused by a glacier collapse, killed 1,375 people across the Nepal-China border and left more than 5,000 missing, with roughly 500 workers believed trapped in tunnels across 12 hydropower projects.
- A joint team of Nepali Army personnel and South Korean disaster experts extracted Luhaitao from approximately 225 meters inside the tunnel, marking the third worker pulled alive from the Trishuli hydropower project.
- Separately, rescuers in Nuwakot pulled a woman alive from a damaged house on Saturday, according to the Nepali Army, while Luhaitao is undergoing health assessment after helicopter evacuation.
- The United Nations and humanitarian partners launched a $49.6 million emergency appeal yesterday to provide life-saving assistance to people in Nepal affected by the disaster.

Chinese national rescued from Nepal tunnel 10 days after flash flood
