Nearly a thousand artists have signed a new petition denouncing the war crimes of the army in Gaza and calling for an end to the conflict, inciting an outcry that reveals the aversion of a part of Israeli society to anti-war discourse.
A petition that was circulated and signed by over 600 members states that this is a voice they must make in the current state of affairs. It also states that the harm to the civilian population in Gaza and the famine in the Strip are not ways to achieve the justice needed after October 7: "Stop the war and release the hostages."
A fundraising evening for the residents of Gaza, which moved to a secret location due to threats from right-wing activists, was filled with a sense of urgency, beauty, terror of death, and solidarity.
In a petition entitled "Stop the Horror in Gaza", nearly a thousand Israeli artists and writers, including David Grossman and Etgar Keret, call on the government to end the war.
