The latest report released on Thursday (July 17) shows that thousands of people in Ontario become homeless every year after being released from prison. In 2023-24, 7,455 people were released from Ontario prisons without a fixed residence (some of them were in and out of prison many times). The report calls on the provincial government to establish a transitional housing system to help prisoners return to society.
