Coby White agrees to 3-year, $74M deal with Hornets: Report
On Thursday, free agent guard Coby White agreed to a three-year, $74 million contract to return to the Charlotte Hornets, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
White, a North Carolina native and former Tar Heel, was acquired by the Charlotte Hornets in a February 4, 2026, trade with the Chicago Bulls.
Demonstrating his value, White averaged 15 points and 39.1% 3-point shooting in 21 games; Jeff Peterson, Hornets president of basketball operations, called him "a tremendous culture fit from the Carolinas."
Following the Hornets' trade of LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves, White steps into a primary starting role in the backcourt.
White told The Charlotte Observer, "Obviously, love it here," expressing enthusiasm for growing with the team's support staff and environment.
