sta.siBelgian Arnaud De Lie (Lotto) is the overall winner of the Tour de Benelux. In Leuven, he was the best in the sprint of the larger group on the final, fifth stage, and in the final meters he overtook Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel.
In the city where he became the world champion on clay last year, the crowd favorite is decisively defeated in the final meters of the five-day Renewi Tour. And that's a shame at best, says Mathieu van der Poel.
Winner of the 5th stage, the Belgian won the Tour du Benelux, ahead of Mathieu van der Poel by three seconds in the overall standings.
