Record highs at risk again

A slight sea breeze will attempt to develop, but some north winds from a weak front passing to our north could hinder beach temperatures from cooling like they typically do in the afternoon. Expect beach highs in the lower 80s. Conditions will stay dry throughout the day.

Summer heat will remain in place for the next few days. The high temperatures was 89 degrees at Piedmont Triad International Airport on Wednesday, making April 15 the warmest day of 2026. Temperatures will climb to near 90 degrees again on Thursday and it will remain unusually warm through Saturday.
