Artist Simon Bachand created a mural at the corner of St‑Laurent and Marie‑Anne in 2018 during the Mural festival. At that time it overlooked a parking lot. Now a three‑storey building has gone up on the lot, hiding most of the art piece. A judge has ruled that Bachand must be compensated for the loss of his work – but by the Mural festival, not the developer or owner of the property.
