Reading Council leader suggests a pause in Ofsted inspection following death of head

Summary by Ground News
Reading Borough Council said that there is a lack of confidence in the way in which the inspection process is conducted. Headteacher at Caversham Primary School killed herself in January while waiting for an Ofsted report which downgraded her school to the lowest possible rating. Chief inspector of Ofsted has commented that although the debate about reforming inspections is a ‘legitimate one’ she believes that it would not be in the best interest to stop them altogether.
