Reader suggests changing state’s slogan

Dear Editor, I was looking at my license plate and it got me to thinking. It says Illinois Land of Lincoln. Lincoln resided in Illinois for twenty-four years. He was born in Kentucky. At one time in history this slogan may have been appropriate but not anymore. We’re no longer the Land of Lincoln. Lincoln was a Republican.
