RCMP Seize 6,765kg in Richmond Drug Investigation
Police say the raids dismantled an alleged drug production network and uncovered firearms, cash and contraband cigarettes.
- On April 1, 2026, the Burnaby Gang Enforcement Team executed five search warrants in Richmond, dismantling an alleged operational drug production network and seizing thousands of kilograms of precursor chemicals.
- This investigation began after a July 30, 2025, traffic stop led to the seizure of four kilograms of precursor chemicals commonly used in fentanyl production. BGET then investigated the driver, identifying three additional suspects and several crime scenes.
- Officers seized 6,765 kilograms of precursor chemicals and "finished product," including methamphetamine, fentanyl, and oxycodone, along with nearly $30,000 cash, six firearms, and 2,900 contraband cigarettes.
- Sgt. Jamie Belleville, Burnaby RCMP's Acting Proactive Enforcement NCO, stated the coordination between policing partners "highlights the efforts that our local law enforcement will undertake to ensure public safety."
- Representing one of the significant RCMP-led busts in British Columbia this year, authorities confirmed the investigation into the criminal network remains ongoing.
