Raspberry Pi 500+ Puts the Pi, 16GB of RAM, and a Real SSD in a Mechanical Keyboard
The Raspberry Pi 500+ targets enterprises facing Windows 10 end-of-life with 16GB RAM, a 256GB SSD, and secure endpoint features, priced at $200, Raspberry Pi said.
- Raspberry Pi introduced the 500+ as a premium keyboard PC built on Raspberry Pi 5's quad-core 64-bit Arm processor, featuring mechanical keys and SSD, on 2025-09-25.
- With Windows 10 reaching end-of-life in 2025, enterprises face security and compliance challenges, as more than 40% of devices cannot upgrade to Windows 11, said Young Song, CEO, NComputing.
- Hardware-Wise, the 500+ adds 16 GB LPDDR4X-4267 SDRAM, a user-replaceable 256 GB Raspberry Pi SSD, and a keyboard with Gateron KS-33 Blue switches plus individually addressable RGB LEDs.
- Pricing starts at $200 and a $220 Desktop Kit bundles a Raspberry Pi Mouse, 27W USB-C power supply, 2 m micro HDMI cable and Beginner's Guide; it is on sale from approved Raspberry Pi outlets worldwide but often as a pre-order.
- Combined with NComputing's LEAF OS, the 500+ is an affordable endpoint for VDI, DaaS and SaaS, backed by Raspberry Pi's over 60 million units sold and over 70,000 NComputing customers, said Eben Upton.
