- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced the sixth Positive Indigenisation List in New Delhi, comprising 405 strategically important defence items with an estimated business potential of Rs 3,070 crore.
- Of the 405 items, 16 are related to the Indian Coast Guard, while 389 are associated with Defence Public Sector Undertakings, according to the Department of Defence Production documentation.
- The list includes advanced platforms like the Advanced Light Helicopter, Su-30MKI, T-72 and BMP-II, alongside missile systems such as Konkurs-M, Invar and MRSAM plus High Explosive Anti-Tank ammunition.
- Through the SRIJAN Portal, DPSUs and Service Headquarters have offered more than 33,000 defence items, with more than 15,700 already indigenised, resulting in Rs 9,000 crore import substitution.
- Once successfully developed, items will be procured from domestic industry through procedures like the 'Make' route, complementing the 5,012 items previously notified under the first five Positive Indigenisation Lists.
