In a major crackdown on corruption in the railways, the CBI has arrested Satyam Kumar, Deputy Chief Signal and Telecommunications Engineer (Dy. CSTE) posted in the Chakradharpur Railway Division of South Eastern Railway, while accepting a bribe of 4 lakh rupees. The arrest occurred at Howrah Railway Station when representatives from a private company were handing him the bribe amount.
