Astronomers have discovered a radio galaxy with the most powerful radio emission. It existed 12.5 billion years ago.
In the young universe there were apparently already extremely strong radio sources. Astronomers have confirmed the galaxy TXS 2354+015 from a time less than 1.2 billion years after the Big Bang. Their calculated radio light power is almost twice as high as the previous record and at the same time shows a weakness of common search methods. Pino Torinese (Italy).
