Atlanta Hawks Reward Quin Snyder with a Contract Extension
Quin Snyder gets a second extension after leading Atlanta to 46 wins, its first outright playoff berth since 2020-21, and back-to-back Most Improved Player winners.
On Monday, the Atlanta Hawks and head coach Quin Snyder agreed to a multi-year contract extension, rewarding the leader who guided the franchise to one of its most successful seasons in nearly a decade.
During the 2025-26 season, Snyder led the Hawks to a 46-36 record, capturing the Southeast Division title and returning to the Eastern Conference playoffs for the first time since the 2022-23 season.
Under Snyder, the team led the NBA with a franchise-record 30.1 assists per game, while Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Dyson Daniels became the league's first back-to-back Most Improved Player award winners.
Hawks President of Basketball Operations Onsi Saleh called Snyder a "phenomenal leader," noting the extension reflects organizational commitment to growth following significant roster changes, including the departure of NBA All-Star Trae Young.
Having surpassed 500 career wins in March, Snyder continues his tenure in Atlanta after joining the organization in February 2023 following an eight-year run with the Utah Jazz.
