Three in Four Organisations Are Not Testing Identity Disaster Recovery Enough
More than 75% of organizations delay identity disaster recovery testing beyond six months, raising risks amid increasing AI-driven cyberattacks, Quest Software's survey of 650 IT leaders finds.
- Quest Software's State of ITDR survey found more than 75 percent of organisations do not test identity disaster recovery within six months, and 24 percent never test at all.
- A Microsoft study cited a 57 percent rise in AI-linked security incidents amid growing AI-driven attacks and rapid growth of non-human identities at an 82:1 machine-to-human ratio.
- The survey of 650 global IT and security leaders showed that since last year, 57 percent now have an ITDR practice, and 92 percent see benefits, according to Quest Software.
- When identity systems are breached, attackers gain immediate access; Quest says automating recovery can be 90 percent faster and Gartner and NIST recommend adopting ITDR and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
